Applying for scholarships

Yes, click questions on the left side of the screen and click the pencil on the right-hand side of the screen for the answer you'd like to edit.

There are some answers that are locked for editing; this is due to the information being pulled in from CMU's database.

This means that the qualifications for the scholarship are pulled in from CMU's database. You are unable to edit these qualifications; the data is updated weekly into Scholarship Universe.

Make sure you have sent your official transcripts to the Office of Admissions. You can email these to apply@cmich.edu.

Please allow 5-7 business days for processing.

Yes, click My Docs on the left-hand side, then click Add+ in the top right to add a document. You will need to name it, select a document type, and upload.

(20MB) is the max file upload. It must be in the form of PDF, JPEG, or PNG.

You can upload a copy of a letter of recommendation yourself. You do not have to have the recommender upload this.

Click on My Docs and then the pencil of the person you requested on the bottom left-hand corner, which allows you to choose a new request. You can then fill out their information and request the letter again.

After applying for scholarships

You can request another letter of recommendation from that person. The reviewers of your scholarship can see your letter of recommendation regardless of whether it's attached to the application or not.

The application has closed, and you can no longer make edits to it.

Awarding of scholarships

Timelines can vary after scholarships close to choose and award recipients. You will receive an email from Scholarship Universe if you have been awarded.
This could be up to 3-4 months after you apply.

You will receive an email first, but you can look under the "Awards" tab in Scholarship Universe to see if you have received any.

Yes, you will receive an email from Scholarship Universe that you did not get chosen for the scholarship after the recipient has been awarded.

After being awarded a scholarship

If a student does not enroll before the beginning of the Fall semester of the academic year referenced, the scholarship could be awarded to another student.

Renewal criteria are listed in the email you received notifying you that you were a recipient, or look in Scholarship Universe under the awards tab.

Scholarship renewals are subject to change during certain years.

Respond to the link in your award notification; it should give you a
link to copy and paste, where you can then fill out a thank-you letter
